If you are referring to the alpha thalassemia/mental retardation syndrome X-linked gene also known as the ATRX gene is located from base pair 76,760,355 to base pair 77,041,718 on the X chromosome. That makes this region approximately 281,363 base pairs.  Hope that helps.
