Ice is a solid form of water.  Water freezes at 0 degree C (32 degrees F).  As the temprature increases the ice melts and turns from a solid (ice) to a liquid (water).

Water is rare in that the soild form is less dense then the liquid form.  This means ice floats on water instead of sinking.
