Balance and moderation in any diet are important. Eating the whole fruit or vegetable instead of juices is preferable. Fiber contained in the whole fruit gives a feelings of fullness. Green leafy vegtables are hard to go wrong with. Most any fruit or vegtable can be part of a good diet but they still contain calories so portion size is important. Preperation is also a big key. Salad dressings can be very high in calories and fat. Cooking vegtables with oil or butter also adds calories and fat.
In my opinion you should focus on portion control and eat a balance of many different foods that you enjoy. Fruits and vegtables can and should be a part of that.
