In the future will organisms be classified according to genetic relatedness rather than anatomical and physiological features?

 

How might this effect the current understanding of domains, kingdoms, phylum, class, order, genus and species?

Perhaps, but it would seem to be rather far in the future. This method is called molecular phylogenetics. This method is very expensive as the entire genome would have to be completed. Very few have been done so far.  There may be some change in the understanding of kingdoms, etc but again, much work has to done before we will know.
